NETWORKING & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Networking- February 2017
ASDA Fever Week! ASDA Fever Week is a full week of events focused on leadership, community service, networking, professional development, health and wellness, and advocacy. Join us for a week of educational lunch and learns, fundraising, and service events all in an effort to promote camaraderie among students and awareness of professional issues dentists face today. Attached is a flyer that has all of the events. In addition to the flyer, there will be a banner in the forum with the events. If there are any changes we will send out an email and the change should be reflected on the banner.
As part of ASDA Fever Week, we will be hosting a Step Challenge! Let's see how healthy our dental students are and who can track the most steps over the week. 1st place wins a $30 gift card, 2nd and 3rd place wins a $10 gift card-- all towards helping you lead a healthy life! You will need to download the Stridekick app to sign up for the challenge (iOS or Android). Follow one of these links to sign up (if the group is full, try the next link); Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Group 4; or sign up using short codes z8eev, edyyx, 65gg5, pmxx9. Please contact Shivani Kamodia (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions!
In addition to the week long step challenge, there will be Ronald McDonald Donations and Collections Boxes available throughout the week. We are thankful for any donations, but specifically "plastic forks & knives, Kuerig k-cups, and single serving microwavable meals (soup, pasta, etc.) are preferred. An additional item not yet on the wish list are biodegradable carry out containers (for families to take their food over to the hospital). These are made by Reynolds and available at Target & Walmart. Finally, toothbrushes and toothpaste are always needed!"
Being in ASDA provides the chance to receive guidance from the MDA and alumni, work with peers to establish a voice for the dental profession, and simultaneously develop skills to become a well rounded, self-aware dentist.
